McCarthy's Revenge
After you've taken everything a man has, of course he will fight to the death
The Borg has already destroyed a generation of intellectuals, but you didn't hear us screaming because we were censored. Instead, you experienced plush, consumer-friendly media that catered to your preconceived notions and you lapped it up like a thirsty dog. You might have briefly noted that thinkers like Hunter S Thompson are in short supply, but you never connected that to an active campaign to suppress 'wrongthinkers.'
The Borg
The stronger you make the government, the stronger you make lawyers. Lawyers make their living by applying law to human interactions. The more laws that apply to human interaction, the more powerful government officials become. This is why they inherently have no self-restraint. There is no interest in curtailing legal reach, which can only be limited b…
The latest casualty is Matt Taibbi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Taibbi). He has called out the new McCarthyism (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCarthyism), but nobody is listening because his old friends are liberals who have joined the totalitarian machine, and his old enemies are conservatives who accuse him of being 'unprincipled' because he 'used' to side with 'liberals.' Does 'liberalism' or 'conservatism' matter when confronted with a government that respects nothing but its own power? Obviously no, but that's not going to change the public dialectic among a bunch of psychopathic, greedy government and government-adjacent cronies.
Matt is in better shape than his old buddy and my former editor Mark Ames (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Ames), who has stopped all his anti-social writing and still can't be accepted as a media insider. He should have followed in the footsteps of my old school chum Mark Hemingway (https://informationcradle.com/mark-hemingway/) and picked a side that would pick him (cracks me up that his wife (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mollie_Hemingway) wears the pants in that relationship). But Ames liked attacking the left as much as the right, so even though he was the most correct about understanding modern Russia, nobody really interviews him. One would think that since the Ukraine war he would be a top opinion-meister, but he is not. I consider him a bad influence on my own writing. He seemed so brave thumbing his nose at the hypocrites, but he doesn't seem so brave now as a broken man who lives a keyboard to mouth existence. He resembles my dead friend Rodger Jacobs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodger_Jacobs), who spent his final years begging for money and work from his better off writing friends. Rodger won the most AVN awards for porn writing and was paid $5k a script in the 1990s (one of his major achievements isn't mentioned in his wiki). That was his high point. At the end, he lived in a Days Inn in Glendale, with his nicotine stained keyboard and long time girlfriend by his side. He died homeless, in physical, financial, and emotional agony.
They should have followed in the footsteps of my other classmates. Jason Rezaian (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason_Rezaian) for example, got to play pawn in the Iranian drama and now he's considered a hero. But does he have publicly notable positions on Iran, the way Michael McFaul has on Russia? Can you in fact name anything he's done, other than be tortured for being a 'reporter' for the ever so credible Washington Post? Or his colleague a childhood chum of mine named Michael Scherer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Scherer)? Probably one of the smartest people I ever met and he's an establishment hack. You know nothing about their opinions, because they have no opinions. They 'won' this writing game, but what did they win? A low-end career that requires they sell out their principles? I'm in the same place in life as they are, but I never sold out my principles. I just put on a suit and tie and pretended to be another anonymous office worker.
Even though the social forces that created us outsider thinkers are gone, we still exist. We are the dreams of hippie parents who taught us to be inflexibly moral. We donned our best 20th century intellectual's costume and targeted the social forces that menaced America in the 21st century. When you were too afraid to denounce the Patriot Act, we had already destroyed our careers by having a position on it. When you considered it too esoteric to argue with the academics who would later attack you with their Frankenstein's monster called Woke, we argued. We tried to get you to listen. Then you were forced into house arrest, injected with experimental drugs, and your property and civil rights were violated by unelected civil servants who made this coup d'etat palatable by bribing you with Covid stimmies. The Catholic Church which was descended from people willing to defy the Roman Empire—at the risk of murder or torture—that Catholic Church meekly accepted Caesar's writ and allowed the modern world's governments (The Borg) to abolish their religion. World War 3 started without any public discussion and yet you have Ukraine bumper stickers on your car.
You called us crackpots, conspiracy theorists, and mentally ill. Now you live in the same world we did, but you are 'unhappy' and listen to the same losers who misled you before. You believe the same conspiracies you did before, even though they are non-predictive bodies of knowledge.
Conspiracy Lobotomy: How Conspiracy Theorists Empower Conspirators
Conspiracy has replaced journalism and mainstream media has become gossip. Governments are aware of the proliferation of opinions over methods, so they use intel drops to foil the urge to research. As a journalist, would you prefer hard work, or a freebie from the authority? We can see an example of this in the way the Washington Post accepts a 'leaked …
You obsess about January 6, but care nothing for the Patriot act which preceded it by almost 2 decades. You laughed when it was Bush benefiting from Diebold voting fraud, but only when Trump lost do you suddenly get principles and act outraged. Your principles are only there when they serve you, and are never there when they might inconvenience you. That is not a principle.
Meanwhile, you played Call of Duty, swiped right or left, stopped reading books; you laughed when the Youtube algorithm played you, you ignored it when the Twitter Files proved the government is directly involved in censorship of speech in violation of the Constitution—but you told me to 'calm down.' You got annoyed when a nerd brought up electronic freedom or a government out of control. “Just lift bro.” That was the answer. Your friend Mike Cernovitch was busy writing books about how to be a pickup artist by acting alpha in all situations and managing image over the truth. You repeated his 4chan repurposed internet trolling rhetoric that accused his political enemies of being pedophile satanists, because you never read 4chan until you saw a Washington Post article on it. You loved all this bullshit, because you're greedy and give no shits about principle. Like most pickup-artist worshipers, you impersonate the person you want to be, rather than becoming that person. You get your dose of principle to consume right here. A thoughtful second-hand opinion that you can pretend is your own. This is why thousands of people read me, but not even ten dare publicly endorse me.
Where were these great 'thinkers' when 2020's problems were boiling up in 2019? Blaming everything on the Jews. These 'great' thinkers had no idea what the real forces of evil were plotting. But you stubbornly stick to the 'it's the Jews' narrative, while ignoring much more powerful global forces. Anti Jewish discrimination continues to contaminate alternative analysis—by design. Conflating counternarratives with mentally ill losers is a great way of discrediting both. You fall for it every time you endorse an 'alternative media thinker' whose worldview has nothing compatible with his or her commercial lifestyle. Kanye 'hates' the Jews, but had no problem with the CCP slave marketplace that manufactured his clothing line which he then marketed to slave descendants in America. He'd rather bring up the Jews. And you can say that the Jews are trash, but I have yet to see any attacker subject his or her own belief system to similar scrutiny. Attacking the Jews becomes the exercise in skepticism that is not applied anywhere else in the Jew hater's life.
My book, 9 Other Dangers (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZX2WYPB), is fiction written in 2013, but turns out to be predictive for 2023. Why? Because these social forces were OBVIOUS. AI impersonating humans. Diseases transforming the mental landscape. The medical industry consuming all other sectors of the economy. Elections as commercials and commercials as the polity. Race war rage. Anyone who lacked foresight prior to 2020 has discredited themselves. But you still support them. I used to be a liberal, but I am an evidence driven thinker so I accepted that large aspects of American liberalism were wrong. But you can't accept that your comfort-media is a liar and that you need to get intellectually Spartan. You should renounce most of your comforts and read and then act on what you believe. You need to prepare for the war that is already upon you. But you are busy using ChatGPT to make your job easier for you. This is like using a rapist to help you get laid who then wants to provide you with moral guidance... like Roosh V (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roosh_V).
Those who were wrong need to be renounced. That requires intellectual courage. You've seen how ideas jump off of the page and into the hand holding the gun, and into the mouth of the toady commanding you to obey. When will you learn your lesson?
A whole generation of thinkers has been destroyed trying to get you to see what they see. But your vices are too strong, so you listen to the idiots. And you don't think anything matters so you don't fight. You are a loser like that. Fortunately, you have real heroes fighting on your behalf. They have studied more than you will ever study. And they did not study for money or social status, like you did, they studied because they believe in transcendental humanism.
They're going to win. What built modern Western Civilization is inherently stronger than what seeks to destroy it. Unflinching reason in the face of irrationality and moral weakness is the stuff that crushed monarchies and churches. You think some slimy nobility served by bots is going to defeat the world's smartest, most stubborn people? You can't even tolerate an opinion you don't like and you think that's the stuff that's going to defeat people who could have been members of the ruling class, but gave it all up to fight for freedom? Keep on supporting the wrong side then. But when The Borg are defeated, don't expect to be treated with any mercy, because you were 'just living your life.' You are the enemy too.
