Conspiracy has replaced journalism and mainstream media has become gossip. Governments are aware of the proliferation of opinions over methods, so they use intel drops to foil the urge to research. As a journalist, would you prefer hard work, or a freebie from the authority? We can see an example of this in the way the Washington Post accepts a 'leaked document' (https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2023/04/26/russia-sanctions-impact-leaked-documents/) (https://archive.is/gLcle) showing Russia's budget can handle the war for at least another year, but completely disregards that Russia had its budget publicly available for years. And that as per my audit, the budget is being aggressively concealed to hide Russia's military capabilities.

Surprised America's most censored writer scooped another major story, unnoticed? I'm not. Journalists aren't doing their job and a smart, part-time guy can beat them.

Conspiracies are used to bypass standards of logic and evidence. Usually because the conspiracy theorist doesn't like the result of analysis. The conspiracy-minded will apply conspiracy when logic and evidence have failed, while trying to call their piecemeal guesswork a 'model,' or belief system. A belief system that denies reality is not a belief system. It's a series of guesses and the guesser is too emotionally stunted to incorporate new data, because truth is ego death. So a conspiracy is used to imitate the process of reasoning, much as a cargo cult would (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cargo_cult). Emulate the external form (the vocabulary of epistemology), while ignoring the internal process (the epistemic methodology) that leads to an analytic result. This is just like when Scientologists or other cults go and redefine every word in order to confuse members and deprive them of the ability to think for themselves. They don't say that they're creating a Newspeak (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspeak) in order to stymie independent thought, though that is precisely what has occurred. Conspiracy gives shield to preexisting biases, because people cannot accept being proved wrong. Old dogmas, like religion, statism, or economic theory must be protected from rationalist methods that discredit them. Conspiracy is the rebuttal.

It is a preexisting bias that Russia is weak and incompetent. This is how the US continues to prosecute and justify a war NATO is losing in Ukraine. The leak is used to prevent research into historical budget documents, so that only two versions of events are presented: either Russia is weak and started the war, or Russia is strong and started the war. There is no third option that the war was intentional, designed by incompetents, and that those who knew Russia was strong were ignored during the war planning. The false binary is used to prepare Americans for a longer conflict led by the same incompetents that designed it. To suggest that it was unknown how much financial depth Russia possessed, will be used in order to indemnify decision-makers when it later comes out that they miscalculated horribly. The actual government conspirators use the conspiracy-crippled habits of the public to lie and further their war conspiracy. Journalism would foil this, if only journalists practiced journalism rather than conspiracy-theory. But they lost faith in their own belief system.

An 'intelligence leak' exploits the conspiracy minded, because leaks are assumed to be more credible than an analytic dive. Analytic dives contradict precious biases. Protecting precious biases means eliminating public discourse. Investigative journalism is 'hurtful,' and contradicts 'facts' 'known' to be 'true.' Leaks come from 'authority' that 'always' knows better than you do. The public is now conditioned to believe some non-auditable source over a pile of data that better explains what's going on. Data analysis is 'hard.' Intelligence leaking is the way the government interfaces with media. It's how we can see how much espionage is involved in media... without resorting to conspiracy. Data leaves a trail. No conspiracy needed.

Quality journalism destroys espionage plots. Relying on 'leaks' is mutually exclusive to reason and makes ones susceptible to espionage gambits. One is an appeal to authority. The other, an appeal to reason. Data analysis is a skill that's in demand, so every loudmouth spouts off 'hot takes'. They have an incentive to use a grab bag of expedients drawn from others, in order to imitate analysis. This makes it harder to discover useful analysis. This way, the government can control the narrative even though contradictory data is laying out in the open. It's quite a bit more dangerous to find out that Russia is not only able to 'keep fighting' but is actually 'outspending' the US. But that is against the government interest, so this information is suppressed—or at least ignored.

If Americans had to address their own failure to mind the 'store' (government), we'd have to take responsibility for all its failures. We'd have to take responsibility for irresponsible media consumption, moral relativism, and mental laziness. Better then to act as if the government was omnipotent and that we are powerless in the face of its conspiracies. That is a mythology that refuses to take responsibility for our own moral turpitude.

Intel drops are a type of misdirection that is catnip for the conspiratorially minded. But conspiracy interest is usually a substitute for weak brainpower. And Americans increasingly resort to anti-Jewish theories in order to explain an increasingly dystopian world. People who are too intellectually weak to combine multiple data streams into a coherent thesis, or too emotionally weak to accept their result, prefer a conspiracy. And the conspiracy-minded are ersatz journalists who inherently are going to draw pseudo-intellectuals into their milieu. This is why Jew hatred is so powerful in alternative media. Psychopaths with agendas are pleased to use anti-Jewish bigotry to keep brainpower wasted on conspiracies rather than auditable and publicly verifiable information. Anti-Jewish rhetoric has become part of a de facto disinformation policy favored by governments, corporations, large religions, and the immoral powerful. They are happy to let the antisemites blame the Jews.

Remember the classic internet formula:

1. Observes something. (example: Jews in XYZ)

2. Applies preconceived notion. (example: 'we know it's always the Jews.')

3. ??? (An irrationality. Example: a common vice, but is ascribed to only Jews)

4. Profit! (example: 'kill the Jews.')

Notice there is never any predictive power in intel drop powered journalism, because it is authority subservient. My budget article predicted what was supposedly 'confirmed' by an intel drop, though the intel drop contradicts known data points and should be disregarded as trash. The journalist must wait for an official to leak, lose, plant, or disclose some information. This in turn stymies the journalistic act, because, 'journalists' become addicted to waiting for the officials to feed them. It's why the leak-addicted prefer to discuss government psyops (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_operations_(United_States)) (Invented BTW by Paul Myron Anthony Linebarger, aka Cordwainer Smith: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordwainer_Smith), rather than analyzing publicly verifiable data.

Some conspiracies will correlate to actual events, but since 'conspiracy' is a belief system that cannot ever be falsified it will survive all challenges. Conspiracy calls itself a method, despite lacking falsifiability: the key trait of a useful method. Conspiracy 'research' is stupid and used to rationalize preexisting biases. It was already believed that Russia did not have enough money to fight the war it is fighting. An intel drop disabuses this notion while removing 'inconvenient' publicly available information from the discourse. A conspiracy rebuts a conspiracy. No facts needed.

The ultimate conspiracy theory that serves as the template for all other conspiracy theories is the Jewish International Conspiracy. That's because this theory externalizes evils and ascribes them to Jews, the 'enemies' of Western civilization. Classic insider/outsider morality. For example, Jews are blamed for the war in Ukraine. Instead of calling them Jews, they are called 'Neo-Cons' or Zionists, so that 'dog whistle' rhetoric can be applied against them. If one seeks to invert their analysis, one cannot, for they will not admit they are talking about Jews. I have yet to encounter any antisemite who is prepared to apply the same methods used against Jews to their own identity. You want to know why? They do not use reason, but they emulate its forms in order to fool those too ignorant (or stupid) to know the difference. It's mostly going to be Jews who are concerned by anti-Jewish rhetoric. Since only conspiracy-minded individuals are going to proctor any 'debate,' the Jew will always lose in that kangaroo court. Unequal treatment for unequal parties is the root of historical evils. What won't be tolerated at church or work is allowed when discussing Jews, Jewish issues, or even Jewish presence.

An example of this is the way Ron Unz asserts that Neo-Cons were part of a Jewish conspiracy and that the outcome of their schemes was the opposite of what was intended: Zionist global supremacy. https://www.unz.com/runz/dislodging-the-neocons-difficult-but-necessary/ Is it possible that neo-cons were be used by their superiors to take the blame for an aggressive foreign policy conceived elsewhere? Even though that is normal, it is never considered. Ron Unz's theses combine with many 'alt-right' narratives about how neo-conservatives like Robert Kagan, Victoria Nuland, and Anthony Blinken have a personal, Jewish, anti-Russia grudge that drives American foreign policy for the benefit of Israel. Does it matter that all of them are in subordinate positions? Or that a nearly omnipotent global conspiracy somehow failed to achieve 'Zionist' domination of Ukraine? Or that Nazis in Ukraine might use a Jew as a front man in order to circumvent accusations of antisemitism? Not to Ron Unz. Unz certainly thinks he has a belief system: Jews drive all conflict in the world by using their status in the US to prosecute a foreign policy that is hostile to world peace in general, and the Islamic and Western Christian worlds in particular. Of course, his belief system depends on circular reasoning: Logical Standard A (American imperialism) is acceptable in every application, except when regarding Jews. Then we swap it out for 'Logical' Standard B (The presence of Jews is evidence of conspiracy) and hope the audience doesn't notice. And this works, because even when it's obvious, the audience mostly accepts the methodological error. Those who catch it are dismissed, or their 'volume' in the discourse is tuned down. If Jews are bad actors for being Jewish, then this is an admission of religious-based bias that the Enlightenment supposedly eliminated from rational analysis. So how can Unz recourse to Enlightenment values? He cannot. That's what I mean: he doesn't have a belief system, because his beliefs are NOT systematic. This is a methodological error and it doesn't matter that Unz is caught red-handed. He is hoping you will ditch your standards of evidence and logic, in order to go along with a bias he hopes you share with him. He wants to inject that bit of malware into your logic circuits. Blaming Jewish neo-cons (what makes them neo? That they are Jews and not the Dulles Brothers?) for American foreign policy relieves everybody else of the guilt. All cited Jews were used by their seniors to zealously prosecute a government agenda to wage war in Ukraine to prop up the Euro and keep the post-Soviet loot crate open... and to take the blame.

Whose interests does the government represent? The ultra wealthy. Are Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, the Cargill family, and Jaimie Diamon cited as causes of the Ukraine war? Is there a conspiracy that centers on these individuals with the same sort of hatred reserved for Jews? Not at all. Only their servants, like Jeffrey Epstein get blamed for what Bill Clinton and Bill Gates did too, because there is an extant Conspiracy Theory about Jews, and no extant Conspiracy Theory for American Plutocrats in general. Blame the Jews and ignore all the others. A Jewish Conspiracy theorist will credit one Jewish billionaire who took the fall, over all other non-Jewish enablers and collaborators. This is just like #MeToo which managed to cancel almost exclusively, Jews and non-whites, while sparing 'more valuable' races and ethnicities. It is important that the Jew and Zionist are conflated and painted with an omnipotence that non-Jews could not possibly match. I'm not particularly interested in surveying Ron Unz's half-truths. How do we know other methods are better? Because we use them every day and cannot use conspiracy to do the same thing. You cannot run a financial advisor business and then place all your investments with Jews or non-Jews. It is a useless filter and one needs to use conventional financial analysis—which does not care whether the user or subject is Jewish. The only place such contorted logic exists is in the minds of conspiracy theorists faced with ego death when confronted with a truth they hate. They will never use their worthless methods when their own well-being is at stake, only when the well-being of a perceived enemy is at stake. Conspiracy theorists will say that ignoring conspiracies, in favor of more useful and falsifiable methods and assertions, is just part of the conspiracy. “Answer Me” Jim Goad encapsulates this entire worldview in the name of his defunct magazine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Answer_Me!). No surprise he's also a contributing writer to the Unz review. And yet, conspiracy theorists refuse to subject their own homemade methods to methods they draw upon in order to formulate their theory. Because their conspiracy is 'special' and not subject to the same methods used to construct it. Why believe the Ukraine war is about propping up the Euro and getting access to Russia's resources? Much easier to blame the Jews. I can invert this anti-Jewish slander by blaming global turmoil on the British Royals, or the Catholic Church, or Islam, or the Chinese Communist Party, or the Masons/Illuminati (a name that has disappeared at the same time Jews replaced them as favored villains). This is what the conspiracy-minded crave: symmetry in methods, because when all abandon the truth, only power predominates. To rebut with facts is to attack the worldview of the conspiracy theorist. That leads to ego death, so the guy won't have it.

If you don't want your favorite bad guy to take the blame, then you can always use a Jewish conspiracy to shield the Biden Crime Family, Xi Jinping, the British Royals, the Arab Gulf State Royals, Polish Nationalists, German Bureaucrats, American Technology Companies and Venture Capitalists, Evangelist Churches, and so many more. Just say the US is controlled by Jews and is out to use espionage services to assert hegemony on behalf of Jews and Israel. Blame the Jewish officials, not their billionaire sponsors. Blame the Jewish traders, not the City of London or the Federal Reserve. Let news present imbalanced stories about Israel, conflating Jews with Israelis, and then ignore that the Gulf Oil States' Royalty owns major stakes in most Western media companies and that Jewish genocide is state policy in all of them. Blame the Jews living in a Christian society, not the society owned and controlled by Christians. It doesn't matter that in nearly every situation and as a matter of aggregate population, Jews are vastly outnumbered by non-Jews. According to those conspiracy minded, whatever the problem, it must always be due to the Jews. No amount of evidence will change their minds. This is the corrosive effect of conspiracy worship.

Does it matter that Jewish refugees said an untold number was massacred in pogroms? Not at all. When Palestinians accuse Jews of genocide, they are believed, because only Jews conspire. Never Arabs. When we use any method that contradicts the official narrative, standards of evidence are suddenly raised. Do I have reliable statistics that interface with other statistics that contradicts the Palestinian version of events? That doesn't matter. Any uncorroborated claim of 'genocide' by Palestinians is immediately believed despite data to the contrary, but any substantiated evidence of Islamic genocide of Jews is dismissed with a false methodological rigor that is never applied to the majority group (Muslims). And when we use brutal population data to aggressively contradict the Palestinian slander that they are victims of genocide, the actual data is disbelieved! Whereas Jews were expelled from Muslim countries and that there is a record of their presence for hundreds of years and that there are virtually none now. One is an act of genocide. The other is not. Buttress that claim with hard population statistic data from a less politicized era:

1.5 million in 1948 to 5 million in 2022? The only way that can be called genocide is if you believe in Jewish conspiracy over population data. Are Jews globally outnumbered by Muslims 100 to 1? Is Sharia a religious obligation? Is Jizya? Are non-Muslims equal witnesses to Muslims in Sharia? It doesn't matter how much better the case is for accusing Muslims of genocide against Jews, that story will not stick. Non-Jews have more incentive to use the Jews as a conspiracy garbage dump, to absolve themselves of guilt.

We can see how that AI search above expresses the media bias inherent against Jews... but that still could never satisfy a conspiracy theorist who would just assert that the computer's search was a truthful assertion, rather than a questionable data stack with obviously corrupted training data. Conspiracy creates its own self-referential loop that cannot integrate into formal knowledge systems, because conspiracies are constructed by disregarding formal methods. They are slapdash and nihilistic. Conspiracy theory and antisemitism are co-morbid conditions, if for no other reason than because the virus of antisemitism has come to define most conspiracy theories. Their methods are similar, because both have lost recourse to all other methods. Pre-existing biases like religious supremacy will then be used to justify conspiracies that flatter their belief. Pick one of the smallest religious groups like the Jews and you're done. And religious supremacy is one of the most common and powerful biases. Conspiracy therefore is not necessarily (in a strict logical way) antisemetic, but it is built from the same materials as antisemitism.

It doesn't matter that there are actual conspiracies: conspiracy theory is used to contradict all other methods. Feels good to give-in to your emotions, while pretending to use a logical method, because you don't want to admit you're a dishonest jackass. Just because there are conspiracies doesn't mean it is useful to explain the world with them. The mass failure of journalism being exhibit A. Conspiracy is used when all other methods fail to satisfy the user. It is applied fantasy, sometimes weaponized.

Conspiracy is used when people don't like the answer they get from analysis. Conspiracies can be uncovered through the process of ordinary journalism, but that actually requires work. And in case you haven't noticed, America has replaced a work culture with a speculation culture. Someone is going to get lucky and that lucky person will get rewards out of proportion to the risk of being just another bullshit artist who made a random guess and did not apply a belief system.

Gamblers believe in conspiracies, because if 'right' then their non-methodological guess is used to justify their method. If 'wrong' then it was due to the complexity of the conspiracy. Magical thinking plus inductive bias equals incorrigible conspiracy theorist.

To circle back to the Washington Post article, all any of those journalists needed to do was look at the historical Russian budget. Didn't they learn to do that in school? I think they did. But an intel drop has an attached conditioned response: to value the intel over the publicly available information. It is easier to evaluate one data point, rather than hundreds. That is the difference between a conspiracy and an investigative method. An intel drop is a way of discrediting publicly available information. Any budget analysis that ignores the Washington Post's article will now be considered suspect, though it should be the other way around (example of how conspiracies mirror antisemitism). The fact that the Washington Post's article did not mention the existing budget information shows how at minimum, laziness is one of the ways intel drops compromise journalists.

Governments are liars and therefore conspiracy is one of their policy tools. The intel drop could be refuted by journalists doing their job, instead of being fixated on the next release by the government. Why are journalists obsessed with their White House Press privileges when the modern White House and its press secretaries are psychopathic liars? In order to maintain access and closeness to power. This is an abdication of their duties. Journalists are outsourced government propagandists. Those who play along are also propagandists. And in doing so, they accidentally undermine the beliefs that underpin the modern world they value. Perhaps they think the Jenga tower can stand when the foundation is removed? The reason conspiracy theories and hatred for Jews are linked is because conspiracy theory is an essential aspect of Western civilization. It is too painful for a Western civilization to take responsibility for evils committed by its governments. Better and easier to say that those governments are 'Zionist Occupied' and then blame Jews for what plutocrats have done: wage war against all of humanity. They can be absolved, continue to destroy and undermine what we value, and all the while, the wrong suspect is accused. By fixating on rumors, gossip, and non-falsifiable information, the actual work of uncovering facts and truth goes undone. Without truth, critical reasoning atrophies and dies.
